Respecting Original Character While Rebuilding What Was Broken
This early-1900s Drexel Hill home had undergone a previous flip where shortcuts left hidden issues behind the walls. After completing a primary bath renovation—where framing corrections, structural engineering coordination, and an electrical upgrade were required—the homeowners turned to Wenger Remodeling to rework the kitchen as part of a broader effort to make the home truly livable again.
The goal was to create a modern, tranquil kitchen while honoring the home’s original character. Existing doors were carefully refurbished and resized to fit, new trim was custom-milled to match the historic millwork, and craftsmanship took precedence at every stage. Behind the scenes, the project addressed structural and electrical deficiencies; in the finished space, those efforts translate into a kitchen that feels cohesive, authentic, and built to last—an inviting environment designed for everyday use and entertaining alike.
